Albion, MI - On Thursday, Feb. 18, Albion College’s Peace Action group hosts a Battle of the Bands.. The event begins at 6 p.m. in Albion College’s Kellogg Center, and will run until about 8:30 p.m., though the time is dependent on the number of bands. The winner of the event will be determined by popular vote, and all proceeds from the ballots (five dollars for the first ballot and three dollars after that, though more will be accepted) will go to rebuild Grace Children's Hospital in Port au Prince, Haiti.
The bands are composed of Albion College students, and the event has been described as “an epic battle of musical proportions, from folk to rock.”
Grace Children's Hospital was once the premiere facility for treating children with HIV/AIDS or tuberculosis, but was severely damaged in the recent earthquake.
